I think it's one of the only sects of Buddhism that actively tries to convert people to Buddhism.|||Clearly the answer above does not understand Buddhism and /or the workings of any Cult There again maybe He/She does
People do have the right to speak out given what is now happening in the world

Regarding the Cult you mention
Yes I would agree with you To my knowledge they are the only ones who do this but what is the main aim of any cult I would suggest to give whatever main stream belief they attach themselves to a bad reputation thereby turning people away It is difficult for an outsider to tell the difference
Look at yourself When you first looked at Buddhism was it easy to tell which Sect is which Which are the authentic Schools and which are not Being told in the early days surly would be a help certainly not a hindrance
When I came to Buddhism fortunately time wasn't an issue and I was able to check it all out over five years including the above but sadly many others are not as fortunate and simply don't have that kind of time available and having the above information available could certainly be a benefit
It is permissible to advise caution and warn but it is not permissible to insist
When a person has all the available information to hand then it is up to them what they choose to do with the life

Yes to be able to do this Some may say that person is very "enlightened" and they may be right but I don't claim to be enlightened I am just an ordinary guy living in extraordinary times who fortunately through Buddhism found a way to escape prison planet

Buddha never tried to convert people into buddhism. He said people need to realize by themselves. People should not believe him just because he was Buddha.We have brains and should be able to understand Its not that everything is written in bible and you should follow it Buddhism doesnt force people to follow it like what WORLD VISION do in Buddhist countries. They give food to poor and get them converted Is this right?Can you prove that monks converting people?
Its totally up to people to realize it.People should not follow the religion just because they were born Buddhists.

They are best avoided otherwise a person can waste a great deal of time and effort
